News from "Up here"

A week ago, we went to the Alaska State Fair and Logan had lots of fun on the rides (pic above) She sure is growing up and enjoying new things all the time.I also put a pic of her up where she is wearing the cutest little dress outfit that was hand me down from a friend. She loves to wear it.

Today, we have just returned from our first camping trip our new "used" motorhome. We took it down to Homer and camped on the Spit with some friends. We had a nice time even if it rained about 80% of the time. Logan had fun on the beach and enjoyed camp food and the fire. Tanner was pretty tuckered out too. Seems like summer is fading into the sunset since every night that sunset is happening a little earlier. The leaves are starting to turn and if rain is any indicator (we've had lots), then we are gonna get buried this winter. Not much else goin' on, everyone is well and happy. Oh, Logan is starting "school" next week with two 4 hour days at a daycare. This gives her some great opportunities for group play and activities and also gives me time to do a month of therapy for my neck (2 bulged discs) before my nucleoplasty next month. Recent news and fun times

We have had a busy summer with running to the park, playing in the back yard, visiting Kenai to fish and meet friends. Logan has really been growing and her vocabulary is growing as well. Our summer has been a little rainy so when it's nice we take full advantage. We are going to Kenai again this coming week to "dipnet" for Red Salmon and maybe halibut fishing in Homer. So far, the boat has seen some good action with halibut being pulled in, a few Alaskan "skate" (sorry, no pics-they are ugly and sort of like a stingray) and let's just say that we threw those buggers back in but what a pain to reel up 80 pounds for a 100 feet! Also, Sherri got a Kenia King Salmon. I am a very, very bad blogger

Forgive me, this is one of the things that never seems to get done. I am going to summarize-we moved to Eagle River AK in November, we are making new friends slowly and haven't found our church home just yet but God will work that out soon. Kristen has had neck problems and therapy and epidural steroid shots and lots of prayer but we just haven't got the healing I need..but that too will work out soon. That's my motto currently, it's gonna work out. Got to keep the faith. We had a lovely Christmas in our new home and Grammy B was here. We went to Cancun Mexico in March '08 and that was awesome, Gramma T came for a part of that trip and it was nice to see Mom. Peter is working WAAAAAyYYY too much and I am going to have to punish him...let me count the ways! No seriously, we are grateful for his job, they are very good to him. I still do some data work from home and make a bit, just a bit mind you, but every little bit helps! Logan is growing up so fast, I remember thinking it was so slow that first year but my, things change. She is just getting her tongue and speech going and she will be chattering away soon. She is a very friendly and happy gal. She is the absolute light of my life, even on the hard days, which are few and far between. Lots to tell

In California with Jim, owner of rehab and Jim, also sober 5 years

I have been neglecting my lonely little blog. Well, here is the short version ofthe past few months. Logan turned 1 and got lots of presents, love and kisses..we said goodbye to our dog Pearl who went to doggy heaven, we miss her TONS...Kristen went to California to celebrate 5 years sobriety at the rehab she went to...yahoo!! Peter has offically been summoned to live in the Anchorage area so sadly, we will be moving from Kenai but it is so good to envision our family really living together...Kristen had a total knee replacement just 2 weeks ago and is doing super...my Mom came to visit during that time and was a big help, along with Peter's Mom helping, it has been a good recovery...Logan still plays with her good friends Justus, Keegan and Grace. She loves to go to the park and she does a super job climbing and sliding and loves to swing, man does she like swings. We had a decent summer fishing, we stocked up on halibut, then dipnetted red salmon and smoked it...yummy...and Kristen caught her first King salmon...and that pretty well covers the highlights, we pray all of you are well and give your our warm blessings...

Long time, no entry.

Hi world, I have been very neglectful at updates. Not to worry, I don't even know who looks anyway! Hee hee. This past few weeks have been crazy. I have been doing a little more work for my at-home, consulting business. It keeps my mind fresh. Logan began crawling on 4/19 and was fully transitioned off soy formula to cow milk. She had no problems making the switch. Dr. said it was time for her to switch so it's a done deal. She recently had a nasty flu bug or some yucky thing, lots of unpleasant things exiting the body from all orifices. Poor little pumpkin. She has been having lots of fun crawling and exploring and can pull herself to stand given the right piece of furniture or such. Peter had a succesful nose/throat surgery for sleep apnea and while it was AWFULLY painful, he is doing so much better breathing and sleeping...and a whole lot less snoring! It's just a purr now instead of a freight train/earthquake. Yep, it was worth it. Well, toodles for now, will update pics after bday on 5/3>>>love ya-Kristen

Whew..

Been awhile since I logged on.... Logan is keeping me hopping. She is gettign new teeth like crazy and has the mood to prove it...she will be crawling soon and she is having fun eating new things..loves to play with the neighbor boys, Justus & Keegan...they will be fighting over her someday!! hee hee
